CHARACTER BIOS

Artie Abrams

Job: Director. Currently helping to direct a new musical through it’s first run on Broadway as it’s assistant director.

Bio:

Blaine Anderson

Job: Actor. Currently playing a role in a new Broadway musical, opposite Rachel.

Bio: Blaine always knew that there was a place for him in New York. He knew that if he could only get out of Ohio, away from the bullies and the empty house that taunted him, he could be really and truly happy. Growing up, Blaine’s parents were distant at best, arranging for the best tutors and care takers to come to the Anderson home. He excelled in his piano and voice lessons, which Mr. Anderson found disappointing, and, if he was being honest, suspicious. He had hoped for one of his sons to be a politician, or a lawyer. He had never wanted a dancing, singing fairy. And, lo and behold, he had two. When Blaine came out to his family, he was sixteen. The bullies at school had left him with one too many inexplicable bruises, and his mother worked the answer out of him. His parents, of course, were horrified. Though they allowed him to attend Dalton Academy, Blaine always suspected that it was more for their benefit than his. This way, they didn’t have to see their gay child, didn’t have to have much of an attachment to him at all, except for on holidays. Blaine even thought that they might have stopped claiming to have two sons. The switch, however, was good for Blaine, and he grew into himself, and into his voice. He quickly became the lead voice for the Warblers, and lead them to several victories (and, unfortunately, several losses). To Blaine’s utter joy, he was accepted into Tisch at NYU, and eventually graduated with an Honors in Theatre Studies. Before long, he was throwing himself into every audition he could possibly find, and somehow, Blaine found himself with a role in a Broadway musical, thanks to a bubbly, confident girl named Rachel Berry. The hours are long and the work is hard, with high expectations requiring even bigger results, but Blaine Anderson has never been so happy.

Rachel Berry

Bio:

Mike Chang

Job: Choreographer. Currently one of two choreographers working to choreograph a new Broadway musical.

Bio:

Tina Cohen-Chang

Job: Publishing agent. Currently a junior publishing agent with a major U.S. book publisher, who is working with Lauren and her new fiction book.

Bio:

Sam Evans

Job: Illustrator. Currently in the process of  illustrating Lauren’s new fiction book.

Bio: Growing up in a small town in Tennessee, Sam was never really sure what he wanted to do after high school. He never really felt like he was good at much and while sports and playing guitar were things that he loved, he never thought he could amount to a career in either field. Originally, he never thought he’d amount to anything as an artist either, but somehow his doodles in his notebook turned into award winning artworks in high school. Drawing was something he’d always loved, stemming from his passion of comic books and cartoons. His talents quickly got him to New York where he started making cartoons for small advertising agencies. Along the way he met Lauren, quickly bonding with her over their interest in science fiction. Now he’s living in a run-down apartment in Brooklyn, working on the illustrations for Lauren’s new book, hoping that it’ll mark the end of his days as a struggling artist.

Quinn Fabray

Job: PR rep. Currently handling Mercedes’ PR, especially with regards to her upcoming album.

Bio: Quinn was raised in Riverside, California. But when she graduated highschool, she knew that she needed a change of scenery. So where better than New York? She booked a flight directly after her graduation party and was off. Coming to New York was a big step, because she only had what money she had saved up, the fact that she was accepted into Columbia and that was it. She didn’t know anyone there. The first thing she did was find a small apartment on the outskirts of the city. She didn’t want anything big or right in the city, because she knew that those were expensive, so it was perfect for her. Then she started looking for a job and got hired as a night cleaner at a PR  firm, which is how she got interested in it in the first place. Once she finished her degree, the manager in charge at the firm in which she worked offered her a full-time position, telling her that any clients she gets to come over to their company, she could be their rep. It was an offer she really couldn’t refuse.

Rory Flanagan:

Job: Photographer. Currently Mercedes’ go-to photographer for photoshoots and promotional shots for her upcoming album.

Bio:

Finn Hudson (admin)

Job: Talent manager. Currently Lauren’s main manager and agent.

Bio: Finn is definitely a long way from home living in New York. Originally he’s from a small town in Texas, the true definition of a sweet, Southern boy. Sometimes the city seems too much from him, such a start contrast from what he was raised around. But his goals is what keeps him going. He was meant to be a football star. Football is a big thing back home and he naturally took to the sport, becoming the star quarterback of his team. But an injury his senior year dashed all dreams of potential college and professional football fame, making him rethink his career choices. He wasn’t the best of students but managed to squeak by with enough decent grades to gain acceptance into NYU. Upon entering the school, he still didn’t know what he wanted which caused him to declare undecided until he chose. His first year he got his basics out of the way until he stumbled upon a suggestion to focus on becoming a manager. He did always do well with rallying up the guys on the football team. Four years later he had gotten a degree in management. His first job is working with Lauren Zizes, managing the author during her sophomore book writing run. He’s still feels like he’s the boy who doesn’t quite know what he’s doing, but his job is actually making him happy, more so than he thought possible. New York still has its bright sides.

Kurt Hummel

Job: Fashion designer and stylist. Currently Mercedes’ main stylist.

Bio:

Mercedes Jones

Job: Recording artist. Currently recording a follow-up album to her very successful debut album.

Bio: Mercedes knew her dream; she just didn’t know how to get there. So after high school, at her parents’ insistence, she went away to college. It was at college that she did some research, recoded some songs with the help of the University’s equipment and started sending tapes out to anyone she could think of. Labels, agents, famous artists, singing competitions on TV, and anyone else she could think of. After two years tapes, auditions and singing in countless open mic nights, she finally caught the attention of a record exec who gave her a contract on the Indie label of a major recording company. Her first record wasn’t a commercial success but it garnered the attention of the critics and the major label players. They gave her one shot to work on a major record, but expected nothing short of a smash hit. They wanted the full package – great songs, excellent vocals, killer dancing, all with style and beauty. So she was living the dream in NYC, trying to become the star she always wanted to be. Maybe someday it would happen, but for now she was putting in the work to make it a reality alongside all her “teammates.” The only things that she could depend on to keep her sanity intact were her friendships. Especially her two best friends – Lauren and Rachel – who she met at an “up and coming women in the arts” event a few years ago. They were like her sisters and she would do anything for them.

Santana Lopez

Job: Talent agent. Currently Mercedes’ agent and manager.

Bio:

Sugar Motta

Job: Unemployed. Currently an extra/ensemble member in a new Broadway musical, solely because her father owns the theatre and wrote it into the contract.

Bio:

Brittany Pierce

Job: Professional dancer. Currently cast as a dance captain in a new Broadway musical.

Bio: Brittany was never the brightest star in the sky, but she was the girl with the killer dance moves and shining smile. After going to Westmont High in Colorado, she decided she really wanted to take her dancing to the next level. She was tired of dancing in her room or only in school productions. She wanted to take it to the big time; Broadway. She’s always dreamed about doing some thing similar but she never thought she would actually be here in New York living out her dreams.

Noah Puckerman

Job: Songwriter/Producer/Recording Artist. Currently working with Mercedes on her next album, writing and producing a few of her songs.

Sebastian Smythe

Job: Back up singer. Currently singing backup for Mercedes’ tracks.

Bio: Sebastian was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland, the fourth most affluent city in the United States. He started voice classes when he was five years old, and he has excelled in that particular activity. He was valedictorian of his class, and had a 4.0 GPA in high school. He is the prime example of a spoiled rich kid. Used to having everything given to him on a silver platter, he has become vain, self-centered, and condescending. If he has something to say, he has no problem saying it, and really doesn’t care about the feelings of others. The words “I’m sorry” are not in his vocabulary, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, no matter the price. He is incredibly smart, and applies his brains well. He is currently a vocal music student at Juilliard.
